Esparza, quien es español, en últimos años ha trabajado en producciones colombianas como La Pola, Mentiras Perfectas, Venganza y Sala de Emergencias. En esta última serie, participó al lado de Rafael Novoa, quien también se une a la narcoserie protagonizada por Rafael Amaya.
